Vaughn Bratcher put down his cornet and picked up his first Electric Bass Guitar at the age of 13. He’s since performed with numerous groups, as well as recorded with several different artists – including Al Green, Cyrus Chestnut, Gary Thomas, Betty Wright, Doris Duke, Z.Z. Hill, Dorothy Norwood, Shirley Ceasar, Steve Carrington, and guitarist Paul Bollenback.

Vaughn’s been seen on the stages of Artscape, the Kunta Kinte African Festival in Annapolis, The Salisbury Wine Festival, and Dover Downs. His own album “The Pleasures Yours” played WEAA and WPFW. His composition “Island Flow” received an award from the John Lennon songwriting contest, in the Latin/Jazz category.

While influenced by Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, and others, the Vaughn Bratcher Project wants to “engage the listener totally by laying down a funky groove or by seducing them with a soft and sweet melody”.
